	COMPETITION! This picture was used in a recent publication called "Packington Nook" - you might have seen it if you went to the Hallam Land 'consultation' back in July. It could be anywhere - but it's not Ashby.  So where is it?  Another historic town in the developers' sights? The competition is now closed and thanks to everyone who told us this is Uttoxeter!  The memorial to the right of the picture commemorates the penance of Dr Johnson.  As a young boy, Johnson's father ran a bookstall on Uttoxeter market place and Samuel once refused to help out on the stall.  When he was older, Johnson stood out in the rain - without a hat - as a penance for for his failure to help his father. Uttoxeter is only about 25 miles from Ashby, but it's still rather unfortunate that Hallam Land couldn't take the trouble to find the right picture to put in their publication.  Perhaps they should be standing out in the rain!
